Post subject: how do you build a custom install disk/iso?
Archived from groups: comp>unix>bsd>freebsd>misc (more info?)

I need to build four custom install CD's, each with different ports/
pkgs that install themselves. Preferably, I'd like the disk
partitions to be set up and newfs'd as well, so that I can stick one
of these disks in a new system and have everything installed, conf
files set up appropriately, etc.

I can't find info on this in the FreeBSD handbook, this group, etc.
Can anyone point me to info on how to do this?

Thanks!

Start with "man release" and "man sysinstall".

Not sure if the freesbie port (/usr/ports/sysutils/freesbie) will do
it for you.
