Hi,
What is the best windows emulator for FreeBSD, I'm looking for one looks
like a windows station.
I explain, when I start the application ( windows emulator ), its begin
with a dos startup and run the windows after.
Is it possible, if not what is the better one ?
thx

I've successfully used "bochs" and "vmware" in the past. They are both
in the ports >> Stay informed about: Looking for windows emulator |

Neither. It is 3.2.x, which is no longer current
at VMware - 4.x is. So, you can't get a license from
VMware, which is required. You have to find a copy
on the net somewhere. Also, VMware 3.x is only suppored
under FBSD 5.x.
Amazon claims to have upgrade licenses, but that
leaves you needing a license for VMware 2.x.
Oh, and be careful, you need the _workstation_
license, which is, natually, more expensive.

Why would you want such a thing ?
If you need something that looks identical to windows and runs all native
windows apps, why not use windows to start with ?
About the closest I could think of to accomplishing both these, is running X
(with KDE as a window manager), and wine (emulator for windows apps)

Well, you could always get a mac, and have unix with the real version
of the windows interface
